Statement of Purpose

Transcommunal Cooperation News (TCN) is dedicated to providing a wide range of short accessible articles that describe and discuss stories by and about those working for constructive transcommunal interaction among diverse groups around the world. Given the destructive and divisional impetus of the corporate media with its  subversive emphasis on negative examples of crisis, hostility, and misunderstanding among people our aspiration is that the TCN will provide evidence of real positive work that is being developed in thousands of very different settings. Our impetus is a practical optimism that is fully aware of the difficult realities involved in making cooperation work, but that is inspired by such efforts, whatever their strengths and limitations may be.

Our goal is that these stories will themselves be another useful step toward productive group interactions as people share information about the barriers that they encounter, and the successes that they are achieving in making transcommunal cooperation a reality in today’s world.
